The austenite steel grade 1.4571 is our first material approved by the technical authority and approval body DIBt (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik). Today it has been replaced by lean duplex materials in many applications, the reason being the high alloy percentage (especially nickel), which leads to a high alloay surcharge in purchase as well as a very volatile price development. Regardless it continues to play a major role for specific use cases, for example in structures where magnetism must not be present.
Cold-worked steel reinforcement in steel grade 1.4571 falls under category B500B NR and has somewhat lower tensil strengths (>550 MPa) and yield strengths (>500 MPa) compared with duplex steels, as well as ductility grade B. The material 1.4571 has been classified in corrosion resistance class 3 by the Federal Institute for Materials Testing Berlin (BAM).
Since 1997, our cold-worked stainless steels in material 1.4571 in diameters 6-14mm have been approved by the DIBt under approval number Z-1.4-50 and are continuously monitored by the "Materialprüfungsamt NRW" (MPA).
